King’s College today announced that Andy Orlowski—the current assistant athletic director who previously served as one of the institution’s most successful head coaches—will assume the role of executive director of athletics and recreation on July 10, 2025.

As executive director, Orlowski will oversee the College’s NCAA Division III athletics program, which includes 28 varsity sports, an intramural and recreation program, and more than 635 student-athletes. His responsibilities span strategic planning, operations, and community engagement, with a mission-focused approach to student-athlete and coaching development. Orlowski’s appointment follows a national search that began earlier this year.

“I am deeply grateful to President Father Thomas Looney, Dr. Anitra McShea, Greg Morgan, and the entire search committee for their trust,” said Orlowski. “I am excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of Monarch athletics and build a program rooted in excellence and a bold vision for what’s possible.”

“It is an honor to join our dedicated coaching staff in shaping the lives of our exceptional student-athletes here at King’s,” he continued. “Our community is truly special, and I expect athletics to play a vital role in strengthening the campus spirit and helping the whole community thrive as one team.”

“Andy’s vision for King’s Athletics is deeply aligned with our mission and values,” said Anitra Yusinski-McShea, vice president for student affairs. “His leadership, vision, and commitment to student success will elevate our programs, inspire athletic excellence, advance our athletic profile, and increase Monarch pride.”

This past year as assistant athletic director, Orlowski provided crucial support for the College’s 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Football Championship run, including the institution hosting its first NCAA Division III Football Championship First Round contest against Ursinus College. He also supported the 2025 MAC Wrestling Championships and the creation of new leadership development programs among student-athletes and coaches that increased ownership and engagement.

While overseeing the daily operations for 28 varsity programs, Orlowski helped align the athletics department with the College’s new strategic plan— entitled “Anchored in Mission, Empowered for Excellence”—and represented the institution at all MAC voting delegate and in-person meetings throughout the 2024-25 academic year. He is also a key member of the King’s College Betzler Athletic Complex renewal project and served as the head of four hiring committees for new full-time athletics staff members, including sports performance, women’s soccer, women’s ice hockey, and field hockey.

Orlowski spent 20 seasons as the head coach of the King’s College men’s lacrosse program. To date, he is the program’s all-time wins leader, collecting two MAC Freedom Coach of the Year honors and leading the Monarchs to six postseason appearances.

He also coached every statistical record holder in that program’s history. His individual student-athlete accolades include MAC Freedom Player of the Year, two MAC Freedom Rookies of the Year, and 37 All-MAC Freedom honorees. In the classroom, Orlowski oversaw more than 100 MAC Academic Honor Roll recipients, two Academic All-MAC honorees, and a MAC Senior Scholar-Athlete.

Alongside his coaching duties, Orlowski was instrumental in the development of the Monarch Athletic Fund, the annual Monarch Mayhem crowdfunding competition, and numerous fundraising initiatives for both the men’s lacrosse program and the athletic department as a whole.

Orlowski previously worked at Misericordia University, where he assisted budget and resource allocation, compliance with NCAA safety standards and team branding guidelines, and game-day operations and logistics. Orlowski also supported several NCAA Championships as a member of the host committee, particularly with the nationally-ranked women’s soccer program and 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship baseball team.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Orlowski is the founder and coach for the Team 570 lacrosse team, a non-profit serving Wilkes-Barre youth. He also spent two years each at The Pennington School as an educator and coach from 2000 to 2002 and The Low Country Day School as an educator from 1998 to 2000.

Orlowski holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Social Studies from Elmira College.
